1. Who you're contracting with

NotaryRate is operated by Shaneika Imani Berryman ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using NotaryRate (the "Service") you agree to these Terms.

2. The Service

NotaryRate is a pricing and quoting tool for mobile notaries and signing agents. It provides state-fee guidance, mileage and trip-fee calculations, quote history, and related operational features. Output is operational guidance only and is not legal, tax, or financial advice.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be of legal age and, if signing on behalf of a business, have authority to bind it.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

use the Service unlawfully or for fraud or spam;
infringe anyone's intellectual property;
interfere with security (malware, probing, scraping, bypassing limits);
reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service.

5. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the Service, including software, content, and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within your plan. You retain ownership of data you input; you grant us a limited license to host and process it solely to provide the Service.

6. Payments and subscriptions

Subscriptions are billed by Shaneika Imani Berryman through our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe handles card processing, tax calculation, and invoicing on our behalf. Subscriptions renew automatically at the cadence shown at checkout (monthly or annual) until cancelled. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel. If a renewal payment cannot be processed, your subscription ends at the close of the period you already paid for — no further charges are attempted.

7. Cancellations and refunds

Payments are non-refundable. Cancel any time to stop future charges and keep access through your paid period. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

8. Service availability

We work to keep NotaryRate available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Implied warranties (merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose) are disclaimed to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. On termination, you may export quote and client data for 30 days, after which it may be deleted.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages (loss of profits, data, goodwill). Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law forbids such limitation.

11. Indemnity

You indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the seller's state of residence. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
